Robert S. Klinger, LUTCF, CPIA, is the president and CEO of Klinger Insurance Group. Bob founded Klinger Insurance Group in 1993, and has been offering personalized, expert service to individuals and businesses in the Washington, DC area and in 15 states across the country for over 24 years.
Bob’s first passion was life insurance, and he stresses to his clients that the purpose of life insurance is to make sure your loved ones are taken care of when you are gone. Many times, it is the difference between losing your home or being able to stay in the family home. From life insurance, Bob branched out into Personal and Commercial insurance. His goal is to make sure his clients are well-informed about their insurance so that they can make educated decisions, allowing them to understand what is covered and what they are purchasing. Bob’s passion for insurance and his exemplary leadership ensure that Klinger Insurance Group staff members are motivated to provide clients with amazing service. Bob’s passion and caring for our country and community is demonstrated in his 20 years of service in the United States Army. Bob served as an Infantry Commander for the 1st Infantry Division under the Big Red 1. Before he retired from the military in 2008, Bob was wounded in combat and received a Purple Heart. While recovering, Bob continued to grow his insurance agency, as he was even more determined to make sure his clients and future clients receive the service and coverage they need to protect their families, their personal insurance needs, and their business insurance needs.
Within the past decade, Bob has joined many of the insurance industry’s major associations and has served in leadership positions on their boards. Bob is both a Board of Directors Member and the Treasurer of the American Insurance Marketing and Sales (AIMS) Society, and serves the Disabled Veterans Insurance Careers (DVIC) as the Regional Director for Maryland, Virginia, and D.C. Bob is a former National Director for the National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA), and is a member of the Member Agent Panel (MAP) under Insurance Agents & Brokers (IA&B). Previously, Bob was the Chairman of the Board for Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania under IA&B. Bob sits on the boards of several organizations so that he may take part in important decision-making and lobbying, allowing him to stay up-to-date on what is happening in the insurance industry. He does this so he can better educate his clients and inform them of any anticipated changes as they arise. Bob strives to be a mentor to his clients, employees, interns, and others.
Bob enjoys getting involved in and around our community, devoting time and funds to help local charities and provide scholarships to minority students. Several of the organizations that Klinger Insurance Group volunteers with include Operation Second Chance, Manna Food Center and the Smart Snacks Program, KindWorks, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Frederick Soup Kitchen, Hire Our Heroes, and Wreaths Across America. As a result of Bob’s leadership and the importance he places on volunteerism, Klinger Insurance Group employees are motivated and encouraged to give back to their community both individually and as a team.
